Grade B6 refers to a martensitic class of stainless steel, that is alloy 410. Intended for use in general purposes, these martensitic ASTM A193 B6 Stainless Steel Bolts contain about 11.5% chromium. Chromium, when alloyed with stainless steel alloys tends to offer superior corrosion resistance properties. Although the corrosion resistance properties of ASTM A193 Grade B6 Bolts are high, it is possible to increase it by the use of various other processes.
For instance, processes such as hardening, tempering, and polishing may be employed to increase the corrosion resistance of A193 B6 Stainless Steel Studs. Singe grade B6 bolts are useful for general applications, they require good hardness as well. So when the ASTM A193 B6 Stud Bolts are processed by quenching and tempering stainless steel 410 will get hardened. The use of ASTM A193 Grade B6 fasteners is prominent in those applications that have the need for characteristics such as mild resistance to corrosion, heat resistance as well as high strength.
An interesting fact about the ASTM A193 B6 Bolts is that they are magnetic and they could be employed in applications that require some degree of magnetic ability. The Asme Sa 193 B6 fasteners are magnetic in both annealed condition as well as heat treated condition. These high hardness A193 B6 Studs tend to be resistant to corrosion from water, atmospheric conditions, and some chemicals, including acids that may be present in food. And so, the fasteners including the A193 B6 Bolt could be applied in both the pharma as well as the food and beverage industry.
