Tubes that are intended for sanitary purposes are generally hot finished or they may be produced by cold finishing. The use of either finish during the manufacture of astm a270 tp304l tubes is left at the discretion of the manufacturer. The alloys used in the production of tubes may be either ferritic or they may be austenitic such as the ASTM A270 TP304l Tube. Although this kind of tubing does not include welding, if welding is to be carried out on either ASTM A270 Grade TP304L Hot Finished or Cold Finished tubes, it has to be performed without the use of any filler metal, with the welding process being an automated one. 

According to specification ASTM A270, it is required that the ASME SA270 TP304L Sanitary Stainless Steel Tube be furnished in a heat treated condition with the application of certain finishes on the surface of the component. Some of the most commonly used finishes carried out on the ASTM A270 TP304L Sanitary Stainless Tubing include - finish No. 120, finish No. 180, finish No. 80, finish No. 240 as well as electropolished finish.

If the finish on the ASTM A270 TP304L Sanitary Stainless Tubing is longitudinally polished, the specification requires its performance on the inside surface of the tube. On the other hand, If the finish has been polished on its circumference, the ASTM A270 Stainless Steel Sanitary Tubing is to be carried out either the inside surface, outside surface. Or if required, then the manufacturer matt polish the inside and outside surface of the SA270 Grade TP304l Seamless Tube.
