Very popular across several industries, the main objective of using both Inconel alloys i.e.- grade 600 and grade 625 is to have a stable structure in high temperature environments. According to specification ASTM B474, the pipes produced herein are to be done so by the electric fusion welding method. Known as a type of resistive implant welding, this method employs heat to join or fuse two or more materials to form an ASTM B474 UNS N06600 Welded Pipe by igniting them to their melting point.
The specification prescribes five different classes, starting from class one to class five, with the designation of the welding process of the ASTM B474 UNS N06625 EFW nickel alloy pipe depending on their technique. Although the welding process may or may not require filler metals, the newly created joints on the ASTM B474 Welded Pipe (600/ 625) have to either have a full penetration double-welded or they could have butt joints that are single-welded, while using the fusion welding processes.
The furnished ASME SB 474 UNS N06625 Pipe, like several other ASTM specifications, must meet prescribed requirements including undergoing heat treatment and chemical analysis. Both the heat treatment as well as a chemical analysis is to be subjected to both plate and weld of the component. Another prescription of the specification is that every ASTM B474M Pipe must be subjected to tests including a transverse tension as well as a guided weld bend test, in addition to a hydrostatic pressure test.
