Various nickel alloys including several Hastelloy grades are covered by specification ASTM B619. There are two classes of Ni SB 619 N06022 Pipe included in this specification. Class 1 pipes are processed by welding followed by a solution annealing treatment. ASTM B619 Hastelloy B2 Welded Pipes that are sized after welding and given a solution annealing treatment also falls under Class 1. Contrary to class 1, class 2 pipes include processing by means of welding, cold working, and a solution annealing treatment. Both solution annealing and descaling the ASTM B619 Hastelloy C22 Welded Pipes are furnishing requirements.

The main advantage of solution annealing is the improvement in the corrosion resistance properties of the ASTM B 619 Hastelloy C276 Welded Pipe, particularly after welding operations. A common problem for alloys that contain chromium is the sensitization of grain boundary by precipitates. By solution annealing the ASTM B619 UNS N10276 Welded Pipe, the surface becomes smoother and there is no excess carbon on its surface.
