Being a substitutional alloy of copper and zinc, the proportions of both elements could be made to vary, depending on the requirements of the applications. It is possible to interchange the proportion of both zinc and copper in the alloy by brass tube manufacturers in India because the microstructure of the alloy is the same. In comparison to pure copper, brass pipe manufacturer in India, recommend using this alloy because it is stronger. It is also easier to either cast or to work with Admiralty Brass Tubes, as opposed to bronze alloy because the alloy is much more malleable than the former.
It is also preferred over bronze, as both the Brass Pipe and Tube would cost lesser and would be an effective solution for applications that require higher hardness and toughness. Another reason, why the preference for brass is common amongst brass pipe suppliers, is that they have an aesthetic appeal due to their gold color appearance. It is not uncommon to see the use of brass hose pipe connectors in conditions in which it is important that sparks not be struck.
For instance, applications involving the use of explosives or even highly flammable compounds specifically call for the use of Brass Seamless Pipe. Since brass, like copper, forms a greenish protective layer on its surface, the resultant Brass Round Tubes may be referred to as an antique alloy. The alloy has the ability to exhibit low friction & the corrosion resistance properties of the brass square pipe make it suited to several casings, valves, ammunitions, etc.
