Copper has great thermal and electrical conductivity, and therefore, its use is very common in either air conditioning or in the refrigeration industries. The material is ductile, which makes it easier for the copper pipe manufacturers in India to produce them in different shapes and sizes. Ductility is a property that makes materials like copper easily formed either in the shape of a Copper Pipe and Tube or in the form of wires. Under specification ASTM B280, the production of a homogeneous uniform wrought structure like a Copper Seamless Pipe is usual practice by employing either a hot working or cold working process.
In applications where characteristics such as better dimensional control, better surface finish, and increase in strength is required, cold working the Copper Water Pipe is ideal. However, cold working the alloy also is known to decrease both, the ductility of the material in addition to corrosion resistance in the ASTM B280 Copper Pipe. The corrosion resistance of copper is amongst metals and alloys are the best. Furthermore, the copper pipe suppliers in India advise the use of these pipes in the air conditioning and refrigeration industries because they are almost always exposed to moisture and high levels of heat.
Hot working the Welded Copper Pipe requires considerably less energy and force. Due to the use of heat the ASME SB68 Copper Pipe in the hot working process, does not have the formation of residual stresses unlike the case in cold working processes. In this specification, the UNS C12200 Welded Pipe is required to conform to several parameters with the inclusion of tensile strength properties, grain sizes, eddy current, as well as the cleanness test.
