Nickel containing alloys are well suited to high temperature applications including for heat exchangers. Yet, another focal point of their utility is their use as a Hastelloy C22 Sanitary Tube. Sanitary tubes are intended for applications that have very low to zero tolerance for contamination. Industries that use such tubes include the pharmaceutical or the food industry. During the production of finished consumer goods, there are some chemicals that could react to the tubes that haven’t properly been surface treated.
Over a period of time, the deposition of chemicals could cause cracks and the whole piping system could fail. Using cold working to produce the Hastelloy C22 Cold Rolled Coiled Tube could lead to better surface finish, both internally and externally. And during regular cleaning of the ASTM B622 Alloy C22 Seamless Tubing the cleaning agents, which tend to usually be alkaline in nature do not react negatively to the metal. Another important aspect of these DIN 2.4602 ERW Tubes is in the production of oil based vitamins or supplements. In the case of residual oil left on the surface of the Hastelloy C22 Tube, the use of a powerful cleansing agent in combination with a smoother surface eliminates said residue.
If the inner or outer walls of the Hastelloy UNS N06022 Tubing isn’t smooth, cleaning them becomes a problem. Cold working is usually done below the recrystallization temperature with the application of mechanical stress on the Hastelloy C22 High Pressure Tube. Because of this stress, the crystalline structure becomes more permanent and the surface of the UNS N06022 Welded Tubo, which receives tremendous stress becomes smoother. Furthermore, without the use of heat, the tensile strength of the Alloy C22 EFW Tube also increases.
