Like most high-performance alloys, alloy 825 is useful in applications that concern elevated temperatures. The melting point of Incoloy 825 tubing is higher than alloy 625. The melting point of metal like alloy 825 is 1400°C. Having a higher melting point comes with some benefits. In particular, the necessity for a higher melting point ASME SB423 UNS N08825 Welded Tubing material is a must in industries that have very tight tolerances with regards to the shape of the tube. Usually, elevated temperatures cause deformation of the tube. Since heat melts the metal to some degree, the tolerance levels may be violated.

And so the Alloy 825 ERW Tubes serve elevated temperature applications very well. Another side effect of resistance to high temperature is the lower rate of oxidation. The content of chromium in Inconel 825 high tolerance tubing is high and ranges between 19.5%  to 23.5%. Unlike traditional alloys, the inclusion of a higher content of chromium in Incoloy 825 tube gives it fortification against oxidation. Under usual circumstances, the elevation of temperature can cause rapid deterioration of a material by oxidation.
