While there are several grades of stainless steel available in the market, the cost of said alloys is higher. For some applications, the feasibility of using these alloys comes into the picture. Such applications call for the use of grade 201 Stainless Steel Welded Pipes. The cost of this particular grade is amongst the lowest available in the market. The low cost of the alloy is due to the significantly lower content of nickel present in the SS 201 Welded Pipe.
Nickel when added to several stainless steel alloys brings about an increase in their corrosion resistance properties. The absence of a higher content of nickel in the Stainless Steel 201 Welded Pipe led to the addition of higher contents of both manganese and nitrogen in its chemistry. Both manganese and nitrogen, when added in a low nickel-containing Astm A358 Tp 201 Efw Pipe bring about an increase in its hardenability and its yield strength.
Applications that require high levels of toughness, with little to no corrosion resistance properties prefer the use of the Astm A312 Uns S20100 Erw Pipe. Generally, the use of this material is prevalent in applications where the conditions are cold. In cold environmental conditions, the Din 1.4436 Rectangular Pipe does not lose its toughness, unlike some conventional alloys, which become brittle and crack. Structural piping systems are another functional area that employs the Asme Sa312 Tp 201 Square Pipe. Properties such as good formability, corrosion resistance, and fabricability of the Sus 201 Schedule 40 Pipe is similar to that of the austenitic stainless steel grade 301.
