High temperature applications require materials that are durable and a metal that does not lose its dimensional stability. The addition of extra carbon to the 316H Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes gives the material a higher degree of hardness. However, because the material is an austenitic alloy, it makes welding the ASTM A213 TP 316H Instrumentation Tubes more difficult due to the formation of carbide precipitates. But extra carbon content limits the alloy from its weldability, is something that aids the Stainless Steel 316H Heat exchanger Tube in resisting oxidation at high temperatures.
In several engineering industries, the diffusion of heat through the processes in combination with various corrosive solutions. The tensile strength as well as the yield strength of Stainless Steel 316H Seamless Tube in comparison to grade 316, is much higher because of the addition of higher carbon content in its alloy. Another ability of this alloy is its use in applications where the pressures are high, even if the SS 316H Cold Rolled Coiled Tubing has been in a temperature setting that ranges up to 500oC. However, it is highly recommended by manufacturers that high pressure and high temperature applications make use of seamless tubes instead of a welded one.
Generally, an ASTM A249 TP316H Welded Tube has the ability to withstand about 20% less pressure than a seamless tube. Both high pressure and high temperature are conditions that prevail in industries such as the petrochemical, gas, and chemical processing industry; conditions that ordinarily support the use of SS 316H Tubing in their system. The creep strength of UNS S31609 U Tube is much higher than grade 304 & alloy 304L.
