The main benefit of using titanium is that the metal offers weight savings. Because the material is very lightweight, many titanium pipe manufacturers in India recommend its use in the aerospace industry. The aerospace industry is in need of lightweight objects or components because it helps to gain speed at thrust at an accelerated duration. The use of ASTM B337 titanium seamless pipe aids in the vehicle gaining momentum, as a heavier component would only work with the gravitational pull and slows down.
While the density of aluminum is 60% lower than titanium, many titanium pipe suppliers encourage the use of titanium because it is twice as strong. Moreover, the corrosion resistance properties of titanium are excellent for both commercially pure alloys or Ti Alloy welded pipe. The mechanical properties of the Titanium Pipe could be altered by modifying the chemistry of the alloys. The use of materials such as chromium, nickel, aluminum, vanadium, etc tends to improve the mechanical characteristics of titanium astm b861 pipe. In the aerospace industry, the components get heated because of the engine fire up. And so the component must withstand high levels of heat.
The titanium exhaust pipe is often a solution to the heat tolerances of the aerospace industry because it can tolerate heat as high as 800°F. Furthermore, the fatigue resistance of the titanium alloy drill pipe is good, making it a viable option in applications that could wear regular metals. Under specification ASTM B861, the various titanium pipe grades produced are required to undergo tests including tension test, flattening test, bend test, and hydrostatic test. The specification also includes the performance of a product and Chemical analysis on the Titanium ® Pipe with conformance of mechanical properties such as elongation, yield and tensile strength at ambient temperature.
