Copper nickel alloys are known to have superior resistance to corrosion. Whilst some copper nickel grades such as 70/30CuNi or 90/10 CuNi are popular, manufacturers also produce the Cupro Nickel 80/20 Round Bar, which is an efficient alloy in itself. Like the other copper nickel alloys, the benefits of using a Copper Nickel 80/20 Round Bar does not only include marine engineering. Since this alloy has great resistance to the marine environment, including their marine-biodiversity, the ASTM B151 UNS C71000 Flat bar is a well suited match.
However, the alloy also offers properties such as thermal or heat conduction to a certain degree. This is why applications that require the generation or storage of heat as some form of energy for a prolonged time may find a use for the ASME SB151 Copper Nickel 80/20 Square Bar. Copper, in an alloyed form, loses its natural reddish orange tint, when alloyed with nickel the 80/20 Cupro Nickel Rod becomes slightly lighter because nickel is naturally silver metal.
This color also looks attractive and may be used for decorative purposes. Today, aside from being used for plumbing operations, marine engineering applications, the CUNI 80/20 Hex bar also proves useful solely as a decorative component for architecture or even for building and construction for various projects.
