Alloy C22 belongs to the nickel based Hastelloy family. Due to nickel being the primary alloyant, the microstructure of the hastelloy screws is an FCC one, which means it contains austenite. Austenite alloys generally have the ability to exhibit very high levels of ductility. Ductility is a property that permits the metal to shaped into various shapes including hastelloy c22 screws. Screws have threads on the shank. Threads present on screws permit a steadfast and quicker fastening.
A versatile alloy, the hastelloy socket head cap screws could be used across varying applications. In particular, the metal finds use as fasteners for marine engineering. The alloy’s ability to exhibit enhanced resistance to both pitting and to crevice corrosion makes the hastelloy set screws ideal for use in marine engineering or for applications in coastal regions. The alloy has a significant content of chromium in its alloy which makes the hastelloy c set screw resilient to oxidizing media. Similarly, because the alloy has been enhanced by the inclusion of molybdenum and tungsten, the hastelloy c276 screws exhibit ample resistance to reducing media.
